CONCORD, N.C. – Josh Gibson of the Hendrick Motorsports chassis shop said it best.
“Daytona’s coming,” he said, “no matter what.”
The entire organization is hard at work preparing for the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season, which begins at Daytona International Speedway.
In racing, preparation is all. You don’t just Live Fearless on race day; you live that attitude every day, sweating every detail as you design and build cars that will help the Hendrick Motorsports teammates, including seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson, win. That’s why Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina has compiled a six-part video series —“Stronger / Faster / Fearless” — that takes an inside look at everything that goes into preparing for the start of a new season.
The series kicks off today with Gibson providing a look inside the chassis shop.
“I feel confident in the group of people that we have from designing the race cars to the group that’s building these race cars,” he said. “We build safe, fast, winning race cars.”
The videos also dive into the preparation of the pit crew – through practice and strength training – the engine shop, the race shops and the crew chiefs.
