LAS VEGAS – Friday afternoon at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Chase Elliott led his Hendrick Motorsports teammates in qualifying.
Elliott was the only teammate to advance to the final round, earning a sixth-place starting position.
Elliott’s three teammates all advanced to Round 2 of the qualifying session. Jimmie Johnson will roll off the grid in 14th, Byron 17th and Bowman 20th.
“Everybody on this Nationwide 88 team is going to keep working hard,” Bowman said. “Figuring out our new Camaro ZL1’s and we’re really happy for Chase. Glad we got one car that’s running well. We can lean on him because the rest of us definitely need some help. We got some work to do, but there’s nobody better than Hendrick Motorsports to get to it.”
Ryan Blaney won the pole.
Sunday’s race is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on FOX, PRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
