BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Due to the continued threat of inclement weather in the area, the start time for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race has been moved up.
The race is now scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
As the weather has not yet moved in on the area, qualifying took place Friday evening, with Alex Bowman leading his teammates to Sunday's green flag with a top-10 starting position in eighth.
William Byron followed his teammate closely in 11th, with Chase Elliott and Jimmie Johnson rounding out the organization's qualifying efforts in 16th and 17th, respectively.
Following qualifying, the No. 48 Lowe's for Pros team discovered a cut left-front tire on Johnson's machine. After changing the damaged tire, Johnson will be forced to start tomorrow's race from the rear.
Sunday's race at Bristol will be broadcast on FOX, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
