CONCORD, N.C. – On May 18, 1986, Geoff Bodine led Hendrick Motorsports to its first NASCAR Cup Series win at Dover International Speedway.

The victory was the first of 19 wins for the organization at “The Monster Mile,” which is tied for the third-highest number of victories by any team at a single track.

Starting the day in third, Bodine took the lead for the first time of the day on Lap 17, and went on to lead six different times throughout the 500-lap event.

His final pass for the lead occurred on Lap 457 and he stayed out front for the final 44 laps to the checkered flag.

Fast forward to 2017 when Jimmie Johnson earned Hendrick Motorsports its 19th and most recent win at the venue, leading the final three laps of the race en route to his 11th Dover victory.

His 11 victories at the one-mile oval are the most all-time by a driver, and his 3,105 laps led also marks a Dover record.

Owning double-digit wins at the track, Johnson joins Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt and David Pearson as the only five drivers to accomplish the feat at a track.
