Kyle Busch to Enter Additional '04 Cup Events

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 6, 2004) - Hendrick Motorsports has added two NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series dates to the schedule of 19-year-old Kyle Busch, team owner Rick Hendrick announced Wednesday. Driving the No. 84 CARQUEST Chevrolets, Busch will compete Oct. 16 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway and Oct. 31 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, marking his fifth and sixth career races in NASCAR’s most elite division. Busch, who has made Cup-level starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Lowe’s Motor Speedway and California Speedway in 2004, will also enter Sunday’s 400-mile event at Kansas Speedway as announced in May. The Las Vegas native is currently second in the NASCAR Busch Series standings with four pole positions, five victories, 12 top-five finishes and 18 top-10 results in Hendrick’s No. 5 Chevrolets.
