CONCORD, N.C. -- The two Hendrick Motorsports teammates currently in the All-Star Race field, Jimmie Johnson and Chase Elliott, earned their starting positions Friday evening for the $1 million event.
The unique qualifying format included a four-tire pit stop -- with no speed limit on pit road.
Johnson earned an eighth-place starting spot and Elliott is set to roll off the grid just outside the top 10 in 11th.
Clint Bowyer captured the pole position.
Saturday night's All-Star Race is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1 immediately following the Open, for which William Byron and Alex Bowman secured their starting spots earlier on Friday.
