CONCORD, N.C. – In the second event of its inaugural season, the eNASCAR Heat Pro League competed at Auto Club Speedway with Hendrick Motorsports Gaming Club claiming its first top-five finish.
Competing on PlayStation 4, Nick Jobes battled through the crowd after starting 12th. Within eight laps, the No. 25 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 had already moved up to fifth.
When the first caution waved halfway through the race, Jobes made up three valuable positions on pit road, going from eighth to fifth. He was able to advance to fourth before the competition caution waved a short time later.
Jobes continued his impressive run as two cautions came out in the final 15 laps. He moved from fourth to second and challenged for the lead as the race wound down.
As drivers made aggressive moves on the final laps, Jobes was shuffled back to a fifth-place finish.
Hendrick Motorsports GC’s Sam Morris qualified ninth for Wednesday night’s Xbox One race, but the driver was unable to compete due to technical issues and was scored in 14th place.
