CONCORD, N.C. – Wednesday night at Bristol Motor Speedway, Hendrick Motorsports Gaming Club competed in the third race of the eNASCAR Heat Pro League season.
Known as one of the toughest tracks in the game, the short track brought an exciting challenge for drivers. When the checkered flag waved for the Xbox One group, Sam Morris, driver of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports GC Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 finished in fourth.
Next up at “The Last Great Colosseum” was the PlayStation 4 race, and driver Nick Jobes finished the event in 14th.
Morris rolled off sixth for Wednesday’s race. Just a few laps in and the driver was able to position himself in fourth. With 64 laps to go, Morris was able to pull ahead to third as he trailed the leaders.
When the first caution of the race waved Morris headed to pit road for tires along with the majority of the field. When the driver returned to the track, he fought to catch the leader. Only 46 laps remained and the No. 5 car made its way to second.
Just 30 laps to go in the event and No. 5 held on to second as the driver searched for the leader. When the checkered flag waved the No. 5, machine made contact with another car and Morris took the checkered flag in fourth.
After qualifying for the PlayStation 4 race in 10th, Jobes quickly made his way to eighth.
With 74 laps to go Jobes dropped to 12th. A competition caution waved with 60 laps to go and had the driver looking to make up position and able to reach 11th. With 52 laps left in the race, a caution flag waved. Looking to make gains, Jobes drove the No. 25 Hendrick Motorsports GC Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to 10th with 37 laps to go.
Just 28 laps remained in the race and another caution flag waved with Jobes in 11th. The driver was the only one who elected not to pit, putting the No. 25 Chevy in the lead. Slight contact with the wall put him down to second. As Jobes fell to third, he fought to hold his spot near the front of the pack.
Unable to hold his position, Jobes fell to 12th with 13 laps to go in the race. The final 10 laps of the race saw the driver in 14th as he headed to pit road for a green-flag pit stop. Just four laps remained in the race and another caution flag waved.
When he returned to the field, he was one lap down. Once the checkered flag waved, Jobes finished the race in 14th.
