(July 19, 2002) -- Jeff Gordon posted the fastest time among his Hendrick Motorsports teammates during NASCAR Winston Cup Series qualifying at New Hampshire International Speedway on Friday, earning the 11th starting spot with a 29.142-second time and a 130.698-mph speed in the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet.
Jimmie Johnson qualified 13th in the No. 48 Lowe’s Monte Carlo at 29.195 seconds and 130.461 mph.
Driving the No. 5 Kellogg’s Chevy, Terry Labonte was 19th-quickest at 29.240 seconds and 130.260 mph at the Loudon, N.H., track.
The No. 25 UAW-Delphi Chevrolet driven by Joe Nemechek was 29th in New England 300 qualifying with a 29.396-second time and a 129.569-mph speed.
Bill Elliott earned the pole position at 28.971 seconds and 131.469 mph.
