Team Lowe’s Quick in Darlington Happy Hour

DARLINGTON, S.C. (March 15, 2003) – Jimmie Johnson and Team Lowe’s Racing posted the second-best lap in Saturday’s final “Happy Hour” practice before Sunday’s NASCAR Winston Cup Series event at Darlington Raceway. Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet, was closely followed by Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jeff Gordon and Joe Nemechek, who posted the third and fourth-quickest times respectively. Driving the No. 5 Kellogg’s / got milk? Chevy, Terry Labonte was 26th as Winston Cup points leader Matt Kenseth paced the practice in the No. 17 entry. Sunday’s Winston Cup race at Darlington Raceway is scheduled for a 1 p.m. EST start.
