DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 11, 2003) – Kellogg’s Racing was the quickest of Hendrick Motorsports’ four NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series teams during Wednesday’s practice at Daytona International Speedway.
Driving the No. 5 Kellogg’s Chevrolet, two-time Cup Series champion Terry Labonte toured the 2.5-mile oval at 189.446 mph (47.507 seconds), good for 17th overall in the only NEXTEL Cup session of the day.
Brian Vickers was 24th in the No. 25 GMAC Financial Services Chevy, followed by Jimmie Johnson and Team Lowe’s Racing in 28th and Jeff Gordon in 41st.
Gordon, who was fastest in Tuesday’s final session in the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet, posted a lap of 188.107 mph (47.845 seconds) in the 45-minute practice.
Jamie McMurray was fastest on Wednesday at 191.290 mph (47.049 seconds).
