Busch Earns Top-Five NBS Start at Vegas

LAS VEGAS (March 5, 2004) – Kyle Busch earned his first top-10 start of the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series season on Friday, driving his No. 5 Lowe’s/Pella Chevrolet to the 10th-best lap in time trials at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. A Raybestos Rookie of the Year candidate, Busch posted a speed of 170.073 mph (31.751 seconds). The Las Vegas native will start to the outside of Greg Biffle on Row 5 in Saturday’s 300-mile event. Mike Bliss will start from the pole position in his No. 20 Chevy. It’s his first pole of the 2003 season. Saturday’s Sam’s Town 300 is scheduled for a 4 p.m. ET green flag. It will be broadcast live from Las Vegas Motor Speedway on FX and PRN.
