JOILET, Ill. (July 10, 2009) -- Hendrick Motorsports drivers locked up starting spots in the first 15 rows during Thursday's qualifying session at Chicagoland Speedway.
Race coverage of the 267-lap NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Chicagoland Speedway will start at 6:30 p.m. ET on TNT. The green flag is scheduled to drop at 8 p.m.
Jimmie Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Lowe's Chevrolet, will start third, while teammate Jeff Gordon will line up his No. 24 DuPont/National Guard Patriot Academy Chevrolet in seventh.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Mark Martin will occupy the seventh row to start Saturday night's 400-mile affair. Earnhardt steered his No. 88 AMP Energy/National Guard Chevy to a 13th-place starting spot during Thursday's qualifying. Martin, driver of the No. 5 CARQUEST/Kellogg's Chevrolet, will line up 14th.
Brad Keselowski, who is running a limited 2009 Cup schedule with Hendrick Motorsports, earned the 29th starting spot. This marks Keselowski's fourth successful attempt to qualify the No. 25 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet this season.
