MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 2, 2009) – Team Lowe’s Racing is bringing race fans to the front row for the action during the Atlanta race weekend with an innovative first-ever live broadcast of its exclusive Jimmie Jam series featuring Team 48 driver Jimmie Johnson and concert favorite Edwin McCain.
The special live broadcast of the Jimmie Jam event can be viewed on Friday from 8:45-9:45 p.m. ET. It provides fans a chance to tune in on their computers for a free glimpse into the evening – including a sneak-peak performance of Edwin McCain and private interview session with three-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson. The Jimmie Jam event will only be broadcast online, so Team Lowe’s fans will have a chance to see a very unique, exclusive event – from the very front row.
Artist Edwin McCain is best known for his top-10 smash "I'll Be," and the Diane Warren-penned top 40 hit "I Could Not Ask for More". The Greenville, SC, native’s Southern blend of folk, soul, rock and acoustic storytelling have made him a popular recording and live performance artist.
Fans can pre-register to watch the event on the homepage of www.LowesRacing.com. Fans will receive a password to log in for the concert on Friday night.
There are special Team Lowe’s Racing prizes available for fans who register for the live Jimmie Jam broadcast by noon on Friday. Fans who have already registered will be included in the drawing. The exclusive prizes include:
• A full-size racing helmet signed by Jimmie Johnson
• A Team 48 racing jacket signed by Jimmie Johnson
• A pit cap and diecast car signed by Jimmie Johnson
The Jimmie Jam event will be held in Atlanta for a limited number of guests who won tickets on LowesRacing.com. The live broadcast of the concert is made possible through the TodoCast technology, which delivers broadcast quality footage live over the Internet directly from an event.
“The fans of Team Lowe’s Racing have been incredible in cheering Jimmie Johnson on through the years, and we constantly look for new and special ways to connect them with their hero and provide them the inside information and perspective available nowhere else,” said Gray Abercrombie, manager, Lowe’s Sports Marketing. “The Jimmie Jam concert series has already proven popular with Lowe’s customers and Team Lowe’s fans, and we want to extend this unique entertainment experience with Jimmie Johnson and our talented artists to thousands more people.”
