NASHVILLE, Tenn.(Sept. 13, 2009) – Chevy, the official ride of country music, is gearing up the families and friends of our military servicemen and women with an inspirational salute to America’s Heroes at www.youreverydayhero.com. Chevy is encouraging people from all over the country to nominate friends or family members who, while in uniform, have demonstrated the military spirit of overcoming obstacles, inspiring others and positively impacting their country and community. The promotion officially kicked off during last weekend’s Chevy Rock & Roll 400 in Richmond, Va., and will wrap up during the “43rd Annual CMA Awards” on Nov. 11th, live on the ABC Television Network. The winning serviceman or woman and family will attend the event and meet Hendrick Motorsports' Dale Earnhardt Jr. Chevrolet General Director, Advertising and Sales Promotion Kim Kosak said, “Anchored by our naturally strong partnerships with NASCAR and the CMA, we have created a very sincere promotion that honors America’s Heroes, with the partnership of America’s music and America’s most watched sport.” Friends and family of the service members will be asked to submit a video or written essay. In early October, five finalists will be chosen for a public voting period where they will be asked to choose which story most inspires them. Those that go online to vote will be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win a VIP trip for two to a 2010 NASCAR race. “Chevy is proud to combine its support of both NASCAR and Country Music through its partnerships with Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Hendrick Motorsports, Richmond International Raceway and CMA to help tell the stories of these American Heroes,” Kosak said.
