KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Oct. 2, 2009) -- Mark Martin, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Brad Keselowski will start one-two-three after Friday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying session at Kansas Speedway. They are joined in the top 11 by Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson.
Martin, driver of the No. 5 CARQUEST/Kellogg's Chevrolet, scored his seventh pole position of the season after touring the 1.5-mile speedway in 30.724 seconds. Earnhardt, driver of the No. 88 National Guard/AMP Energy Chevrolet, followed his teammate with a time of 30.808 seconds to earn his best starting spot of the 2009 season.
Keselowski, who will be making his sixth Cup start this season in the No. 25 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet, nabbed the third spot, while Gordon, driver of the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet, picked up the ninth starting spot.
Johnson, the defending race winner, will roll off the grid in his No. 48 Lowe's/KOBALT Tools Chevrolet in 11th.
