CONCORD, N.C. (Feb. 18, 2010) – From turning wrenches in Texas to inspecting tires for the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet, Drew Beason has worked his way through the racing ranks. Meet Drew:
Full name: Andrew Mitchell Beason
Nickname: Drew
Hometown: Del Valle, Texas.
Education: Del Valle High School and the Universal Technical Institute in Texas.
Team/job duties: Tire specialist for the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet at the track, mechanic at the shop.
Time at current job: This is my first year as the tire specialist and my third year at Hendrick Motorsports.
Years in racing: 12 total; eight at the NASCAR level.
First racing job: Mechanic for late model team in Austin, Texas.
First job overall: Mechanic for a driving school (then called URace Driving School in Texas).
If I wasn't in racing I would be: a mechanic for high end cars.
Best racing memory: Winning the first (Car of Tomorrow) race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in 2007 with Jeff Gordon.
Favorite track: Texas Motor Speedway and Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.
Hobbies outside of racing: Chilling at the lake or anything for adventure (white water rafting, hiking, etc.).
Favorite sport other than racing: Any X-Games event.
When I'm not at the track you can find me: Kicking it with my wife, Sarah.
On an off weekend you can find me: The lake or beach.
Pet: Nova (A cat that thinks she’s a dog).
Favorite music: Anything up beat.

I knew I wanted a job in NASCAR when: Well I’ve always wanted to do something in racing, but I think I’d have to say 2001. That’s when I got to travel fulltime with an all-pro team following the Southwest Tour.
