AVONDALE, Ariz. – The Hendrick Motorsports lineup of Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. will line up within 15 spots of one another for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Phoenix International Raceway.
Race coverage will begin at 2:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
Gordon, driver of the No. 24 Drive to End Hunger Chevrolet, led his teammates by scoring the 20th starting position. In 24 Cup starts at Phoenix, Gordon has one win, nine top-five finishes and 17 top-10s.
Martin, driver of the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet, will line up 23rd. A two-time winner at the one-mile oval, Martin most recently went to Victory Lane there in 2009. He also owns 12 top-five finishes and 19 top-10s in 28 Cup starts.
Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Lowe’s/KOBALT Tools Chevrolet, earned the 28th spot. Johnson is the winningest driver at Phoenix with four victories. He also has 10 top-five finishes and 13 top-10s in 15 Cup starts there.
Earnhardt, driver of the No. 88 National Guard/AMP Energy Chevrolet, will roll off the grid 35th. Earnhardt owns two wins, four top-five finishes and seven top-10s in 17 Cup starts at Phoenix.
