Earnhardt, Gordon, Johnson among drivers at Friday's Chevy Day

DETROIT – Race fans visiting Indianapolis Motor Speedway this Friday for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Brickyard 400 will have the opportunity to experience the Team Chevy Racing Display and participate in autograph and question-and-answer sessions with the sport’s biggest stars, check out show cars and test drive 2011 Chevrolet vehicles.

The weekend’s festivities begin on Friday with Chevy Day at The Brickyard. A number of drivers will sign autographs and participate in question-and-answer sessions at the Team Chevy Racing Display which will be located adjacent to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum.

Each driver will sign 50 autographs. To receive an autograph, fans must first obtain a wristband, which will be distributed at the Pagoda Plaza starting at 8 a.m. local time on Friday. The schedule:

Autograph Sessions at the East Chalet

10:10-10:40 a.m.: Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Paul Menard and Juan Pablo Montoya
10:25-10:55 a.m.: Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart and Jamie McMurray
11:05-11:35 a.m.: Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Burton, Ryan Newman and Clint Bowyer

Question-and-Answer Sessions on the Chevy Stage

10-10:15 a.m.: Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart and Jamie McMurray
10:45-11 a.m.: Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Paul Menard and Juan Pablo Montoya
11:45 a.m.-12 p.m.: Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Burton, Ryan Newman and Clint Bowyer

The first 150 fans to sign up for a test drive also can take a hot lap around Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Team Chevy Test Drive will be located next to the Team Chevy Racing Display. Test drives will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time on Friday and Saturday.

At the Team Chevy Racing Display, fans can learn about several of Chevrolet’s 2011 models from product specialists, receive a Team Chevy t-shirt, and check out show cars, production vehicles, and GM Performance Parts crate engines and parts and accessories.

Additionally, Chevrolet is supporting Cell Phones for Soldiers by providing locations at the display for drop boxes. Cell Phones for Soldiers raises money through the collection of gently used cell phones, and has provided since 2004 more than 1 million pre-paid calling cards and 60 million minutes of calling time to soldiers overseas.
