Hendrick teammates qualify inside top 31 at Pocono

LONG POND, Pa. – Hendrick Motorsports teammates earned starting spots inside the top 31 during Saturday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying session at Pocono Raceway.

Sunday’s race will be televised at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Jimmie Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet, was the top qualifier among his teammates. He will line up 18th for Sunday’s race. In 19 Cup starts at Pocono, Johnson has two wins, seven top-five finishes and 13 top-10s.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will line up in his No. 88 AMP Energy/National Guard Chevrolet in the 19th position. Earnhardt has five top-five finishes and seven top-10s in 23 Cup starts at the 2.5-mile speedway.

Mark Martin, driver of the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet, leads all competitors with 19 top-five finishes and 33 top-10s at the 2.5-mile triangular racetrack. Martin will line up 25th on Sunday.

Jeff Gordon, driver of the No. 24 Drive to End Hunger Chevrolet, will start 29th in Sunday’s race. In 37 starts at Pocono, Gordon has five wins, 17 top-five finishes and 26 top-10s. He is tied on the all-time wins list with Bill Elliott.
