CONCORD, N.C. – NASCAR’s most popular driver and Kannapolis native Dale Earnhardt Jr. raced his way into the 2014 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway after winning on Sunday at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.
Earnhardt, who won the Sprint All-Star Race as a rookie in 2000, will look to take home the $1 million prize when NASCAR’s best take the track during the opening weekend of Charlotte Motor Speedway’s 10 Blockbuster Days of Racing at the Sprint All-Star Race on May 17.
To celebrate Earnhardt and his No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports team’s big win, Charlotte Motor Speedway is offering fans special ticket packages May 16-25. For only $88, fans will receive a premium frontstretch ticket to either the Sprint All-Star Race or 600-mile event and access to a Wild West-themed hospitality area modeled after Earnhardt’s own Whisky River bar in Charlotte. The offer, which is valid for 88 hours and ends Friday, includes a $10 voucher to enjoy a barbecue buffet, drinks and unlimited mechanical bull rides. For a limited time, fans can also purchase a pit pass for just $88 and get an up-close look at the cars, drivers and race day preparations before the 600-mile event.
Earnhardt joins his Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne who already are eligible to race in the 2014 Sprint All-Star Race.
Sprint All-Star Race ticket holders will enjoy a free concert by country music mega star Jake Owen as part of the Ultimate All-Star Backyard Experience, presented by Kingsford and Pennington. The 90-minute concert will take place in the infield, and ticket holders can upgrade to the Golden Ticket and get VIP access to the show for just $20.
