COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Jeff Gordon will visit the Texas A&M University campus this Thursday, April 3 for a public unveiling of the No. 24 Axalta/Texas A&M College of Engineering Chevrolet SS. Gordon will race the Aggie-themed paint scheme in the NASCAR Sprint Cup event at Texas Motor Speedway this Sunday (3 p.m. ET on FOX/PRN).
“It's a cool tie in,” said Gordon of the A&M paint scheme. “Engineering has become more and more of a focus in racing, and that's evident this year with our focus on new rules like the bigger spoiler and the lower ride heights, and what we can do to make the car go faster."
Thursday’s event is open to the public and will begin at 5:30 p.m. local time in front of the Rudder Tower on Texas A&M’s campus. Click here for more information.
Gordon enters Sunday’s race at Texas with two top-five finishes and four top-10s after the first six events of the 2014 season. The driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet SS has finished 13th or better at all six races this season. Sunday’s race will mark Gordon’s 27th start at the 1.5-mile track, which will give him the most Cup starts at Texas Motor Speedway among all drivers.
