CONCORD, N.C. – Hendrick Motorsports today launched a new initiative aimed at showcasing the importance of science, technology, engineering and math education throughout the organization.
Ignition 2 STEM will focus on explaining how those four education disciplines are utilized in various Hendrick Motorsports careers.
"Ignition is an initiative from Hendrick Motorsports to showcase our everyday use of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and how it relates to our team and our sport," Hendrick Motorsports Vice President of Marketing Pat Perkins said. "The goal is to provide educational content across the Hendrick Motorsports digital platforms geared toward youth that highlights both our partners and our people."
As Perkins alluded, the initiative is designed to include Hendrick Motorsports' drivers, personnel and partners in weekly, STEM-related content across all of the organization's digital channels.
From videos and stories on HendrickMotorsports.com to facts and trivia on Twitter and puzzles on Pinterest, Ignition is designed to give fans a better understanding of how STEM plays out in Hendrick Motorsports careers on and off the track.
"Our hope is to spark an interest in today's youth by giving a behind the scenes look into the vast variety of ways STEM is needed on an everyday basis to field NASCAR teams," Perkins said.
