CONCORD, N.C. -- The moment has been a long time coming.
But for Kasey Kahne, it certainly hasn't felt that way.
"I was pretty surprised that I'm already at 400 starts," he said. "It went by really quick."
Kahne's first Cup start came at Daytona International Speedway in 2004, a year in which he earned four poles in addition to 13 top-five finishes and 14 top-10s.
Now in his 12th season -- after 17 wins, 26 poles, 83 top-five finishes, 147 top-10 finishes, 4,541 laps led and 149,189 miles driven -- Kahne is set to make his 400th career Cup start.
It will come at Phoenix International Raceway, a track where he has earned a win, four top-five finishes and seven top-10 finishes.
To commemorate the occasion, Kahne's No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet SS will sport a special decal, which can be seen above.
"That's a lot of starts," Kahne smiled. "Hopefully we can run well at Phoenix and have a good showing on our 400th."
