CONCORD, N.C. – Kasey Kahne finished the race at Texas with his third top-10 result of the season, finishing eighth.

And he was pleased with the race and his car.

“The Great Clips Chevrolet was pretty close,” Kahne said. “There were times when I felt really competitive with the leaders and other times more like a fifth-place car. (Crew chief) Keith (Rodden) did a great job -- we prepared a nice car.”

The 2015 season has been good to Kahne so far. He has one top-five finish and three top-10s. And his consistency shows in the rankings. He is fifth in the points standings, which leads all four Hendrick Motorsports teammates.

“I know the Hendrick engines, Hendrick chassis have been tough."

Kahne says he feels confident at the 1.5-mile tracks like Texas thanks to all of the hard work back at the Hendrick Motorsports campus every week.

“I know the Hendrick engines, Hendrick chassis have been tough. Jimmie (Johnson) was flying right there,” he said after last Sunday’s race. “(Kevin) Harvick was flying at times. I felt like we were there with Dale (Earnhardt, Jr.).”

Harvick, who drives for Stewart-Haas Racing, also uses Hendrick Motorsports engines and chassis.

“I think Hendrick Motorsports and obviously Stewart-Haas, the teams are working pretty well,” Kahne said. “The engine and the chassis shop did a really nice job for all of us.”
