UPDATE: Due to weather in Kentucky and the rescheduling of the NASCAR test session, Jeff Gordon Day and Parade scheduled for Thursday, July 9, in Pittsboro, Indiana, has been rescheduled for Thursday, July 23, at noon.

CONCORD, N.C. – Not everyone can say that they have a day named after them.

But Jeff Gordon can.

On Thursday, July 9, in Pittsboro, Indiana, Gordon will not only have a day but also a parade in his honor.

Gordon is no stranger to Pittsboro. He and his family moved there when he was 14 to continue pursuing his racing career. He attended nearby Tri-West High School while racing as a teenager throughout the Midwest. And years later the community still likes to call the four-time champion one of their own.

Gordon’s visit to his old home is a part of his “Victory Tour,” just a few weeks before his final race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where is a five-time Brickyard 400 winner.

The Jeff Gordon Day Parade begins at 12 p.m. ET Thursday, July 9, on Main Street in Pittsboro. Fans are encouraged to line the parade route, and a merchandise trailer stocked with No. 24 merchandise will be on site.
