DOVER, Del. -- Jimmie Johnson is set to make his 500th career start, and he'll do so at his favorite racetrack.
"I love all the races in the Chase, but Dover is certainly the one I smile the most for," he said.
Johnson is set to roll off the grid fifth for the race at Dover International Speedway -- the final one in the Challenger Round of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
The top 12 drivers in the standings will advance to the Contender Round, and Johnson said he feels fortunate that the elimination race comes at a track where he feels comfortable.
"If we need to win to move on, my best tracks kind of fall on those third races (in each round)," he said.
