CONCORD, N.C. -- In the NFL postseason, it's win-or-go-home.
And Hendrick Motorsports teammates Kasey Kahne and Dale Earnhardt Jr. both had plenty on the line Sunday as their favorite teams were in action during the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
When the dust settled, the drivers were on opposite ends of the spectrum.
First, it was Kahne's Seattle Seahawks taking on the Minnesota Vikings in sub-zero temperatures. But the driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet SS was confident enough to make a bet with his partners at Great Clips.
As it turned out, the Vikings had a shot at a 27-yard field goal to win the game in the closing seconds -- and pushed it wide left, securing the win for the Seahawks.
Next up on the Sunday docket was a matchup between Earnhardt's Washington Redskins and the Green Bay Packers.
The game's first score came thanks to Washington's defense, which sacked Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the end zone for a safety.
While Earnhardt's Redskins enter the offseason after the loss, Kahne's Seahawks will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, this coming Sunday to take on the No. 1 seed Carolina Panthers.
Jimmie Johnson might have something to say about that matchup -- after all, last season he served as the honorary #KeepPounding drummer before a big Panthers win.
