CONCORD, N.C. -- Jimmie Johnson's win last week at Atlanta Motor Speedway was a monumental one for the driver and the No. 48 team.
But not only did it move Johnson into a tie with Dale Earnhardt for seventh on the all-time wins list, it extended a Hendrick Motorsports streak as well.
Johnson's trip to Victory Lane at Atlanta made 2016 the 31st consecutive season that Hendrick Motorsports has recorded at least one NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory, the longest active streak among Sprint Cup teams.
Let's dive deeper into that streak below.
1) The streak began in 1986 when Geoff Bodine earned the organization's first Daytona 500 win.
2) On seven more occasions, the streak was continued in the very first race of the year with a trip to Victory Lane in the Daytona 500.
3) Nine drivers -- including Bodine for his initial win -- contributed to the streak's continuation by earning the first win of the season for the organization.
4) Jimmie Johnson leads the way, having earned Hendrick Motorsports' first win of the year in 11 different seasons. Jeff Gordon is next with 10 under his belt, and Ricky Rudd is third with three.
5) Gordon's personal streak of seven consecutive seasons with Hendrick Motorsports' first win of the year -- 1995 through 2002 -- is the most among all teammates.
6) Overall, 16 different drivers have earned wins for the organization during the streak -- Bodine, Tim Richmond, Darrell Waltrip, Rudd, Ken Schrader, Terry Labonte, Gordon, Johnson, Brian Vickers, Casey Mears, Joe Nemechek, Jerry Nadeau, Mark Martin, Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
7) To date, Hendrick Motorsports has earned 241 victories -- 238 of which have occurred during the 31-year streak.
8) The organization has double-digit wins at 11 different tracks during that span, and Martinsville Speedway is atop the charts with 23 Hendrick Motorsports victories.
9) Five different U.S. presidents have occupied the oval office during the streak.
10) The No. 1 song in the country when the streak began? "How Will I Know" by Whitney Houston.
