CONCORD, N.C. – To be a successful, results-producing race team, the operation needs to run like a well-oiled machine.
Teammates work together throughout the week to make sure they are as prepared as possible once they arrive at the track. Each weekend they work as hard as possible to perform to the best of their ability.
So last week, the No. 24 NAPA AUTO PARTS Chevrolet SS team took some time before heading to California to work on some team bonding.
Before logging his best finish of the year thus far – sixth place at Fontana – Elliott and his team spent some time hitting the slopes in Vail, Colorado.
“We had a good trip,” the rookie smiled. “Nobody got hurt, so that was a good start.”
A native of Dawsonville, Georgia, Elliott lived 15 miles outside of Vail in Edwards, Colorado, when he was younger, sparking his passion for winter sports
The getaway allowed Elliott and his team time to decompress in the midst of the three-week West Coast swing.
“We got really lucky -- the snow was great,” he said. “It snowed almost a foot while we were there, so it was a fun week to be around.”
