DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- In a press release issued Friday, it was announced that NASCAR and the Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality (RISE) are launching a new campaign to "promote diversity, inclusion and equality within and outside of sports."

Jimmie Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Lowe's/Kobalt Tools Chevrolet SS, participated in the public service announcement that will air this weekend during NASCAR national series races on FS1. You can see it in the video below.

"It’s important to be part of a PSA that shows athletes taking a stand against discrimination of any kind," said Johnson, "and I hope that my participation helps to advocate and influence for an end to discrimination and harassment."

The PSA encourages fans to take the pledge to treat everyone equally and with respect, as well as to speak up when they see discrimination in action. To take the pledge, go to RISEtoWin.org.
