CONCORD, N.C. -- Next year, William Byron will take to the track in the NASCAR XFINITY Series as a part of Hendrick Motorsports and JR Motorsports.
The 18-year-old is currently competing in his first full NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season and will also begin his freshman year of college later this month.

1) Who is your role model and why?
I would say Jimmie Johnson, just because I was a fan of him before his first championship, so it's really neat to be a part of it now.
2) What is your major in college?
I'm majoring in business communications. I've taken eight classes so far so hopefully that helps me get a head start.
3) What is your favorite sports team?
The Panthers for sure.
4) What is your favorite movie?
Forrest Gump
5) Do you have any pets?
No, just because my mom has allergies so we can't. She starts sneezing all over the place when we have pets around.
6) Did you always know you wanted to race?
I always knew I wanted to be a part of racing. I wanted to race but I didn't think it was a possibility but it came together.
7) Who is your favorite musician?
I like Rascal Flatts.
8) What is the show you most recently binge-watched?
Probably SportsCenter. I don't watch much other than sports.
9) What is your favorite pre-race meal?
Probably some type of grilled chicken.
10) What is your favorite racetrack?
I like Pocono, it was my most recent win.
11) What is your favorite way to spend time away from the track?
I really just like to be with my friends so probably just going to sports events or hanging out and playing games or pool.
12) What is something about you that fans may not know?
I'm an Eagle Scout. I got that a couple years ago.
