CONCORD, N.C. -- Two Hendrick Motorsports team members swapped their uniforms for suits in the September edition of Lake Norman Magazine.
Taylor Moyer, race engineer for the No. 5 Chevrolet team, and Chad Avrit, rear-tire changer for the No. 24 Chevrolet team, spent a day at Charlotte Motor Speedway discussing their roles in the industry all while modeling the fall's hottest clothing trends.
Moyer, who grew up around farming and dirt-track racing, said he loves the way the sport continues to evolve.
“In the broadest terms what we try and do is collect and process data — elements such as fuel mileage and body attitude — to make decisions and modifications to give us a competitive edge with our car,” Moyer said of his duties. “This sport is ever-changing; it’s what makes it so challenging and so exciting.”
Avrit, who is an avid athlete and loves the competitive nature of the sport of racing, also loves spending time with his wife and children. His son got the chance to see his dad on the cover of the magazine, as you can see in the photo above courtesy of Avrit and his wife Jayme.
“I simply love the competition, though, and having the opportunity to work with a great group of guys is special," Chad Avrit said.
