JOLIET, Ill. – Due to inclement weather at Chicagoland Speedway, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying has been canceled.
The starting order for Sunday’s race will now be set by owner points.
Jimmie Johnson will lead the Hendrick Motorsports brigade to the green flag from the eighth position while teammate Chase Elliott will start three rows behind him in 14th.
Alex Bowman – driving the No. 88 Axalta Chevrolet SS for Dale Earnhardt Jr. – will start the 267-lap event from the 17th position.
Kasey Kahne is slated in Row 10 and will roll off the grid in 19th.
The first race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET Sunday and will be broadcast live on NBCSN in addition to MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
