CONCORD, N.C. -- The second race of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup is nearly upon us.
And the Hendrick Motorsports drivers are preparing to take on the tricky New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the second time this season, with Chase Elliott and Jimmie Johnson having their sights set on positions in Round 2 of the Chase.
"The racetrack is tough to race on," Johnson said. "It's hard to complete a pass next to somebody and that frustration builds after two or three laps of not being able to complete the pass."
Elliott said that he has struggled at the Loudon, N.H. venue in the past but is excited to return and tackle the 1.058-mile oval.
"I think a solid first three races would get you through," Elliott said of the Chase. "Obviously, I think 'solid' includes trying to make the most of your opportunities and not make mistakes."
