CONCORD, N.C. -- Chase Elliott may be in the midst of a run in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, but he's still a bit envious of the college lifestyle.
With that in mind, the 20-year-old driver has put together a unique collegiate ticket package program.
"I have a lot of buddies who are in college right now and I see kind of that lifestyle and what they enjoy and how much fun they have," Elliott said. "I thought it might be kind of something cool if we could incorporate that into what I do on the weekends."
Dubbed "Chase University," the exclusive ticket package will make its debut this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
It will feature concerts, food, beverages and tailgating games before, during and after the race.
"Charlotte has been very nice and done a great job of jumping on board with us," Elliott said. "A home track to a lot of people, so to speak, so it might be a good place to do that with having a handful of colleges around that area.
"We are excited."
Elliott will even make an appearance on race day prior to the green flag.
"I’m going to go out and spend some time with the folks that are there," he said. "Charlotte has got an area that is going to be designated just for the folks that do come."
Students with a valid college ID can enroll in the "University" with a special $24 party pass available online at CharlotteMotorSpeedway.com.
"Twenty-four dollars gets you a ticket and free parking, which I think is as good as it’s going to get,” Elliott said.
Those in attendance can share the fun on social media using the hashtag #ChaseU.
After this weekend's festivities, "Chase University" will make its return for the Oct. 23 race at Talladega Superspeedway. For more information on the Alabama edition, visit TalladegaSuperspeedway.com/ChaseU.
