CONCORD, N.C. -- As part of a longstanding commitment to supporting service members and veterans, Bank of America teamed up with Hendrick Motorsports and USO of North Carolina to provide the surprise of a lifetime.
Three North Carolina service members transitioning to their civilian careers were given the chance to head to the Hendrick Motorsports campus for some hands-on training.
The three men took part in a pit crew workout with the No. 48 team before heading to the pit pad to watch practice. That's when No. 48 team crew chief Chad Knaus showed up to let the veterans try their hand at a pit stop.
At the end of the day, they were surprised with a special invitation to the Bank of America 500. They will be in attendance this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Bank of America will also host a special summit with military service organizations from across the country as part of race weekend as it continues its tradition of honoring members of the military at the Bank of America 500.
