CONCORD, N.C. -- After racing 500 miles at Charlotte Motor Speedway Saturday night, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series gets a day off on Sunday.
But Kasey Kahne will use that day off to do even more racing.
Kahne will lace up his running shoes and participate in the seventh annual Five Kahne 5K charity run Sunday morning.
"We always do a 5K Sunday after the Charlotte race," he said. "We're excited about that. It's been a great event that a lot of people have supported."
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. ET at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
More than 8,000 children in North Carolina and surrounding states have benefited from the funds raised by the annual charity run.
"We've been able to try to keep that money around here that we've been able to raise," Kahne said.
