RALEIGH, N.C. -- Welcome to the Redvolution.
That's exactly what Dale Earnhardt Jr. did Friday night, welcoming thousands of fans to the home of the Carolina Hurricanes and the players to the ice.
Earnhardt was given the honor of sounding the hurricane warning siren prior to the game and helped kick off their 2016-17 National Hockey League season.
It's a tradition the Hurricanes began back in October 2008 before each home game that has been taken up by former players, celebrities, Olympic athletes, season ticket holders and now Earnhardt.
Perhaps Earnhardt brought some good luck, as the Hurricanes beat the New York Rangers in their season opener.
