CONCORD, N.C. -- Being a seven-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion takes a lot of hard work, determination and -- a balanced diet?

It's no secret that one of Jimmie Johnson's passions is fitness, whether it's keeping in shape for the weekly races, training for his latest triathlon, taking a cycling trip or just eating food that fuels his body.

“During the season, my mind is on," Johnson said in a recent article for Sports Illustrated. "It keeps me eating well and exercising more."

The driver even tailors his diet toward aspects that will benefit him when he's in the car, such as an anti-inflammatory diet that aids his vision and eyesight.

And while many find it difficult to maintain a balanced diet while constantly on the road, Johnson said it's easy for him because the fridge and cupboards on his bus are always stocked with good food.
