CONCORD, N.C. -- Although the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship trophy came home to Hendrick Motorsports, the season did not come without its share of struggles.
After starting the year off strong with two pole positions and two wins, the organization lacked the speed it wanted throughout the summer months.
However, Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick, said the company pulled together as one to turn it around and into a championship year.
"It probably was one of the best character-building times in the history of our company because everybody dug in," Hendrick said.
