CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- As Rick Hendrick prepared for the NASCAR Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the Hendrick Motorsports owner knew that he wanted to "speak from the heart" when it came to his speech.
That emotion shone through as he took the stage Friday following an introduction from Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon.
Hendrick was presented his Hall of Fame ring by his wife, Linda, before he began his speech, accepting the honor on behalf of "every person from the very beginning to today" that helped him reach the pinnacle of the sport.
