CONCORD, N.C. -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. will take to the track this weekend at Darlington Raceway with familiar colors aboard the No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet SS.
With a nod to his career in what is now the NASCAR XFINITY Series, Earnhardt's throwback Chevy will carry a scheme similar to the ACDelco car he drove in 1998 and 1999, both of which were championship-winning years for the driver.
"It [the ACDelco car] catapulted me into the Cup driver that I am today. I learned a tremendous amount throughout those two years working in this car and I had a great team around me. It's going to be a lot of fun. Hopefully the car's got great speed and we can recreate some of the magic that we had back in the '98 and '99 seasons."
