DARLINGTON, S.C. – Another stage of racing is complete at Darlington Raceway and Chase Elliott leads his Hendrick Motorsports teammates in 11th.
Elliott worked his way through the field using the middle line after finishing Stage 1 in 19th. He moved inside the top 10 late in the stage but lost a spot as a caution flag waved with three laps to go, ultimately ending Stage 2.
Teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. restarted the stage in 13th and held steady in and around the top 15 throughout the segment. He gained two positions with 10 laps to go in the stage and crossed the finish line 14th.
Jimmie Johnson started Stage 2 in 21st but reported not being able to find grip in his tires. He finished the stage in 17th.
Teammate Kasey Kahne took the green-checkered flag in 21st.
Martin Truex Jr. won the stage.
With the first two stages complete, a final 167-lap segment remains before the checkered flag waves at Darlington.
