TALLADEGA, Ala. -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. took to the track this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway in the green No. 88 Mountain Dew paint scheme that he piloted earlier this year at Michigan.
At first glance, it might appear to be the same car. However, there is one big difference to Earnhardt's Talladega Chevy -- the thousands of fan names overlaying the green paint.
This summer, Mountain Dew launched the “Ride with Jr.” program, allowing fans to sign up to get their name on the No. 88 Chevy and say thank you to the driver in the process.
“I think it’s pretty cool that fans will have the opportunity to get their names on our Mountain Dew Chevy for my last race at Talladega,” Earnhardt told USA Today’s FTW. “Our whole idea on finishing up the season is to try to show our appreciation to our fans and everyone in the industry on making this an incredibly enjoyable ride, so this is another great way to do that.”
With Earnhardt's Mountain Dew Chevy on-track this weekend, fans can now enter their email here and find the exact location of their name on the race car.
See Earnhardt pilot the No. 88 Mountain Dew Chevrolet SS in tomorrow's race at Talladega Superspeedway at 2 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
