FORT WORTH, Texas – Jimmie Johnson will lead his Hendrick Motorsports teammates to the green flag on Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway.
Johnson advanced to the final round of qualifying Friday evening and will start the race from ninth place.
"Justice League" duo Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kasey Kahne made it through to the second round of qualifying and will roll off the grid 17th and 19th, respectively.
Chase Elliott was not able to make a qualifying run due to not completing inspection in time. He will start from the rear of the field in 34th.
“We know we have to start in the back so we will try to have a good practice tomorrow and get it driving good and go from there,” Elliott said.
Kurth Busch captured the pole.
Sunday’s race is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on NBC, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
