FORT WORTH, Texas – Friday night at Texas Motor Speedway, a Hendrick Motorsports engine powered Johnny Sauter’s Chevrolet Silverado to Victory Lane in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
And the victory marked a major milestone for the organization -- Hendrick Motorsports engines have now earned 400 total wins.
"It takes a tremendous amount of dedication and sacrifice to get to a number like 400," Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick said. "Randy Dorton set the standard and built such a great team, and our people have honored his legacy with every single motor we produce. I'm so proud of the work our engine department does, and I know there are many more wins to come."
The win total includes 289 in the NASCAR Cup Series, 75 in the NASCAR XFINITY Series and now 21 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series along with 11 ARCA and four K&N victories.
“Congratulations to Rick Hendrick and everyone in the engine shop on their 400th win,” said Jim Campbell, vice president, performance vehicles and motorsports for Chevrolet. “Four hundred trips to Victory Lane is an incredible accomplishment.
“It serves as a testament to all of the hard work by Rick and the team in the Hendrick Motorsports engine department over the years. They have been consistently great day-in and day-out for a long time. We are very proud that all of those 400 wins have been in Chevrolets.”
The milestone arrives with Hendrick Motorsports on the verge of another key number – 250 NASCAR Cup Series wins.
The organization’s next opportunity to achieve that feat comes this Sunday at Texas. The race is scheduled for 2 p.m. on NBCSN, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
