CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Jimmie Johnson has won seven NASCAR Cup Series championships, but he's not the only award-winner in the family.
Johnson's wife, Chandra, has been named as one of the 2017 Charlotteans of the Year by Charlotte Magazine.
The award recognizes her for her dedication to the local arts community through her work with the SOCO Gallery, which she founded in 2015.
"What’s amazing about this audience is that when you introduce them to art the way we do — we put the artists in front of them, and their work — it makes it easier to connect," she said of the ever-growing artistic culture in Charlotte.
