CONCORD, N.C. -- Every Wednesday, a new edition of #MorningsWith airs live on the Hendrick Motorsports Twitter account.

The weekly segment is all about meeting new teammates all across the Hendrick Motorsports campus. With more than 600 team members, there are hundreds of unique stories in every department throughout the organization.

#MorningsWith provides an opportunity to sit down a Hendrick Motorsports employee and get an inside look at what it's like working for the 12-time NASCAR Cup Series champions, and the path that team member followed to join the organization -- along with some fun side stories along the way.

This week, we chatted with Ron Malec, the longtime car chief of the No. 48 team who recently took on a new role.

He explained his new position and discussed his journey with the No. 48 team for all seven of Jimmie Johnson's championships.

“It was a great, great ride," he said. "I couldn’t ask for a better driver, a better friend or a better teammate. My years here at Hendrick (Motorsports) have been awesome and I hope to have many more here, just in a different role taking care of all four teams.”

He even shared what it was like to have Johnson as a roommate many years ago.

The first edition of #MorningsWith debuted last week with Diane Holl as the subject. The director of vehicle engineering, Holl was born in the United Kingdom and her motor sports resume includes stops in Formula 1 with Ferrari as well as McLaren, Michael Waltrip Racing and Chip Ganassi Racing.

She took us through her journey from Guildford, England, to Concord, North Carolina, and her current role at Hendrick Motorsports, explaining along the way how her dad’s career in military defense led her to a career in motor sports.
