TALLADEGA, Ala. -- Saturday afternoon at Talladega Superspeedway, Chase Elliott led his Hendrick Motorsports teammates in qualifying.
After advancing to the final round of the session, Elliott’s single-car lap earned the driver a fifth-place starting position for Sunday's race.
Alex Bowman joined his teammate in the second round of qualifying and earned an 11th-place starting position.
Jimmie Johnson and William Byron's Round 1 times were not enough to advance to the final round and they will start Sunday's race in 16th and 17th, respectively.
Kevin Harvick won the pole.
Sunday's race is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on FOX, MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
